Dr. Sagar Gujjar and our highly experienced pali Hill staff often combine microneedling with PRP or the Skinpen with lasers and radiofrequency treatments to address scars, pores, and pigmentation and to stimulate collagen production.

WHAT IS PRP?

The PRP used in our treatments is a high concentrate of protein derived from the blood; blood is drawn from the patient and placed in a tube that, once spun in a centrifuge, separates natural growth factors and stem cells from red blood cells. In addition to helping our patients maintain a fresh, youthful appearance, PRP and stem cells can also be injected into the hair to promote stronger, thicker hair and hair regeneration. This “Liquid Gold” solution has countless benefits, including addressing localized conditions such as acne, wrinkles, cellulite, and sun damage.

Traditional Skinpen

A traditional Skinpen with PRP is a minimally invasive procedure that uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to improve the appearance of the skin. PRP is a concentration of platelets, which are blood cells that contain growth factors. Growth factors are proteins that help to stimulate cell growth and repair.

The Skinpen is a very low-risk procedure, because the only thing being used is the patient’s own blood, so allergic reaction is virtually non-existent. The treatment is an excellent option for those who are not ready for an invasive surgery but still want to improve their skin and look as youthful as possible. Dr. Gujjar simply asks that you be in good physical and emotional health with realistic expectations for your results. Cosmetic procedures can help enhance your natural beauty, but they cannot make you look like a completely different person.

When do i see results?

You can start to see results from a Skinpen within a few weeks, but the full results may not be visible for 3-6 months. This is because the PRP takes time to stimulate collagen production and new skin cell growth

Post Treatment Care & Instructions

  • Avoid touching your face for the rest of the day.
  • Apply a cool compress to your skin if it feels hot or irritated.
  • Take a cool shower or bath.
  • Avoid using any harsh or abrasive products on your skin for 3-5 days.
  • Apply a gentle moisturizer to your skin twice a day.
  • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
  • Avoid sun exposure for at least 24 hours
  • Do not wear makeup for 24 hours.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM RECOVERY?

Clients can expect the face to appear red and dry for several days after the Skinpen. The skin will slowly heal, revealing a beautiful new complexion and thus improving self-confidence. For about the first 3 days, avoid vigorous exercise, as well as steam rooms, saunas and spas, as excessive sweating may irritate the skin.
